  • Wow!  It has been too long.  I just wanted to put up a post.  I don't really have time to say anything because I have a 12 page paper due tomorrow at 3pm that I haven't started!!!  Then only two more finals to go!  But I still feel great because I just finished my 20 page paper !

I took a class with Madaleine Ablright this semester.  It was my favorite class.  She just published a book titled The Mighty and the Almighty.  Sounds like it will be intersting.

Hope that everyone is making it through till the summer!

ps. I want to thank Arael for editing my 20 page paper :)

  • It has been too long since I posted.  There have been so many times when I want to post, but I want to put up pictures, and it take so long to upload them onto photobucket.  Can anyone recommend a better way of posting pictures on the web, so that I can put them up on xanga?

So, Nathan and I have been in Korea for about five months!  It has been so wonderful to be here together and just have a change of scenery and change of pace.  I feel a lot less academic pressure here than at Georgetown, which is a nice break.  We have gotten to spend time with a lot of great friends as they came to and went from or came to and stayed in Korea.  And we have really had a chance to enjoy our time with eachother.

Of course we are both so excited to go home and see family and friends.   We are lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives.

Two weeks ago we went to Sorak San (a famous mountain range in Korea, for anyone who doesn't know :).  It was so fun.  We went to with Tiffany, Christina, and two friends from school.  One of the highlights of the trip was shooting off fireworks on the beach at night.  Nathan came up with the idea of having firework wars with eachother; similar to paintball, but with roman candles.  I have to admit, I was a bit concerned that someone would get hurt, but we were cautious.  We had so much fun.  It was a bit ironic that Nathan ended up getting injured.  He was shot near the eye, but luckily not directly in the eye.  His eyelashes were singed and he had some tiny burn marks, but he was ok.

Yesterday, we celebrated Aziz's Birthday.  Anyone who didn't wish him a happy birthday should go and do that :).  It's so nice to have other BC's here.  He and his wife are so happy together.

ok, here are some pictures :).

Here we are at the peak of the mountain!

Nathan looking at the amazing scenerey.

Getting all the amo ready for the 'war' :).

Oh, and a few weeks ago, Nathan and I were the stars of a Korean tv program ( for anyone who knows about Korean channels, it was an arirang tv program) :).  It was a promotional video, and we were the foreigners selected to be taped going around to different sites in a particular city of Korea, and enjoying everything.  It was a blast and the people were great!  We got to practice our Korean.

These are some of the guys from the tv station crew.

They wanted Nathan to ride a motorcycle!

We had a stylist who gave us clothes and did make-up and hair.  It was quite an experience.

Ok, I have to do some homework.  Have a great day!

  • I've been in Korea for almost 3 weeks!  It's amazing how time flies.  It's been really wonderful.  Since the beginning of the summer, Nathan and I got to spend a week on vacation with 3 other amazing couples.  I got to see my amazing family whom I miss so much.  We all drove up to the BC arts fest in New York (except for my dad).  I spent a few days with Nathan's family in Maryland, with everyone home.  Nathan, Elishia, and I spent a week with my relatives in San Diego, and took a trip up to LA to see my mom and Arael.  We all went into Hollywood and Beverley Hills,  and played Texas Holdem together.  Elishia and I pulled an all nighter, and drove out to a Denny's at 3 in the morning.  That morning at 5, Nathan and I left to go to the airport, and now we're in Korea.

Nathan and I live in a little apartment very close to Yonsei University, which is the school we will be studying at untill December.  I didn't expect that there would be so many other BC's here, some studying, some just here for the summer, some on their way to and from Chung Pyung.  It's so nice to be here.   Of course I miss home, but I'm excited for the summer and next semester.  I know it will go by quickly, and hopefully we will both be fluent in Korean when we get back ;).

Congratulations to my brother.  He graduated with honors!

    We celebrated after the ceremony!

We got a flat tire on our way to the BC arts fest, which took over 2 hours to fix!

Some of the cousins (my mom's side of the family) and Nathan, Elishia, and I.

    The girls in Beverly Hills!

    Sunset on the pier!

    Bonfire on the beach!

We went to a Meat Restauraunt (I never know how to spell that word :) with Kiantar, Moonja, and Jessi.

Riding on the Chi Ha Chol (subway).

    Fun at the Nore Bang.

Standing outside the army base on July 4th to watch the fireworks (they wouldn't let us in because we don't have military id :( )

    Hope everyone is doing well.
